Pip Value Calculator

Find the US dollar value of one pip for any forex position size. Choose your pair type, enter lots and price, and the calculator handles the conversion.

What is a pip?

A pip is the standard unit of price change in forex. For most pairs it is the fourth decimal place, 0.0001. For pairs quoted in Japanese yen it is the second decimal place, 0.01. One standard lot is 100,000 units of the base currency.

Formulas (account in USD)

  • USD is the quote currency (EUR/USD): pip value = pip size × units. One standard lot = 10 dollars per pip.
  • USD is the base currency (USD/JPY): pip value = pip size × units ÷ price.
  • Cross pair (EUR/GBP): pip value = pip size × units × USD value of the quote currency.

Worked example

One standard lot of USD/JPY at 150.00: 0.01 × 100,000 ÷ 150 = 6.67 dollars per pip.
